Gold is consolidating near $4,000 an ounce, yet Robert Minter, Director of Investment Strategy at Abrdn, urges investors to focus on the metal's long-term place in the global financial system rather than short-term swings. He views the recent correction as having removed speculative excess without damaging fundamentals, citing China's crackdown on leveraged trading, position unwinds and shifting retail flows. "I don't think anything has structurally hurt the gold market," he said, adding that central banks such as China's added 15 tonnes during the dip.
