Copper Giant Intercepts 771 Meters at Mocoa as Giustra Notes Project Expanding

8/31/2026 · Kitco News

Copper Giant Resources reported drilling results from its Mocoa project in Colombia. Hole MD-070 intersected 771 meters grading 0.54% CuEq, with higher-grade sections reaching 0.87%. The intercept aligned closely with the existing geological model, validating predictable mineralization patterns.

The project holds an inferred resource of 1.12 billion tonnes at 0.51% CuEq, containing 7.7 billion pounds of copper and 1 billion pounds of molybdenum. Frank Giustra noted the hole confirms grade continuity and advances the project toward a preliminary economic assessment.

Hole MD-068 returned 544 meters at 0.45% CuEq, with improving geology at depth outside the current resource shell. Rising copper demand from electrification highlights the need for large-scale deposits like this.
