Gold and Silver Hold Weekly Gains as Oil Falls and Yields Return to 5%

Gold and silver prices rose on Friday while holding on to weekly gains, supported by lower oil prices despite pressure from climbing Treasury yields and a stronger dollar. Spot gold stood near $4,382.38 an ounce, up 0.85%, and spot silver reached $66.13, up 1.58%. U.S. equity indexes finished mixed, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.2% while the Dow Jones fell 0.2%. The Federal Reserve raised its target rate range to 3.75–4.00%, and futures markets now price a 58% chance of another hike. The 10-year Treasury yield climbed back to 5%. Technically, gold requires a sustained break above $4,396.15 to extend the rally, while silver needs to settle over $66.70. Brent crude fell to $104.87 and WTI to $100.30 amid partial easing of the geopolitical oil premium.
