Gold and Silver Rebound as Fed Hike Odds Ease After Oil Slide

Spot gold climbed to around $4,088.60 an ounce, adding 1.55%, while silver reached $59.050, up 2.25%, after the North American session close on Friday. Lower Treasury yields and a softer dollar aided the precious metals recovery as oil prices fell despite Strait of Hormuz tensions. The metals rebounded after a volatile week in which gold tested below $4,000. Reduced odds of further Fed rate hikes in 2026 eased pressure, though one hike remains possible. Oil traffic through the strait recovered to 80% of pre-conflict levels, sending WTI to $69.23 and Brent to $71.99 a barrel. The dollar index declined and the 10-year Treasury yield held near 4.4%. Gold bulls target a break above the $4,115–$4,248 resistance zone with upside to $4,560. For silver the key resistance area is $60–$61.55, with support watched below $56.50.
