Gold and Silver Slide as Strong Payrolls Revive Fed Rate-Hike Bets

Spot gold traded near $4,429.40 per ounce, down 0.96%, while silver stood at $66.040, off 1.21%. Stronger-than-expected August U.S. payrolls of 162,000 jobs lifted Treasury yields and revived Fed rate-hike odds to 60-65%. The two-year yield hit 4.37-4.38%, its highest since January 2025.
