Gold and Silver Slide as Yields Rise Ahead of Fed Minutes and Treasury Auction

10/8/2026 · Kitco News

Gold and silver prices fell in early trading as Treasury yields rebounded, the dollar firmed and oil climbed above $100 a barrel. Spot gold dropped 0.97% to $4,123.10 an ounce while silver slid 1.80% to $60.130. September’s weak jobs report (+29,000 payrolls) was offset by rising services inflation readings.
