Gold and Silver Slip as ECB Holds and Yields Climb

Spot gold traded near 4066.82 dollars per ounce, falling 1.52%, while silver stood around 58.06 dollars, down 2.75%. Prices faced pressure from rising Treasury yields, a firmer dollar and surging oil, despite geopolitical tensions. The ECB held its benchmark rate at 2.25% and US initial jobless claims dropped to 187,000. Markets now see the Fed likely on hold, pushing the 10-year yield to 4.714%. Technically gold slipped below 4100 with resistance at 4148, and silver failed to hold above 60.75. Brent crude exceeded 98 dollars and WTI approached 90 amid shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz.
