Gold ETF Demand Defies Rising Bond Yields as Investors Add Record $31 Billion in Q3 – WGC
10/13/2026 · Kitco News

Investors kept buying gold-backed ETFs despite pressure from higher rates and a stronger dollar. The WGC reported that global funds took in 67.3 tonnes worth nearly $10 billion in September, driving a record quarterly inflow of $31 billion.
North American ETFs posted their first positive quarter of 2026 with 81.3 tonnes or $11.7 billion, while European funds, especially UK-listed ones, also reached new highs. Asian demand was led by China amid weak equities.
WGC analysts noted that even with rising Treasury yields, gold retained appeal as a portfolio diversifier due to inflation and market volatility, a trend that could continue if fiscal concerns persist.
