Gold Holds Near $4,138 as ISM Data Lifts Yields

10/6/2026 · Kitco News

Spot gold traded little changed near $4,137.70 per ounce, slipping 0.05%, while silver gained 1.04% to $60.900. A firmer dollar and multi-decade high Treasury yields limited gold’s rebound even as October Fed rate-hike odds faded. U.S. equities finished higher, with the S&P 500 rising 0.7% to 7,773.95. September ISM services PMI eased to 54.9, yet the prices index jumped to 74.0, its highest since July 2022. October rate-hike odds dropped to 22-24%, and the 10-year yield reached 5.31%. Brent crude settled at $100.32 a barrel and WTI at $89.43. Gold bulls next target resistance at $4,164.44, with support at $4,101.35; silver resistance lies at $61.744 and support at $60.715.
