Silver Prices Could Head Back to $50, Says Bloomberg’s McGlone

10/14/2026 · Kitco News

Bloomberg Intelligence strategist Mike McGlone forecasts silver could soon retreat toward $50 an ounce as the metal grapples with the aftermath of its historic surge. He sees prices potentially locked between $50 and $84 for years ahead. Spot silver now stands at $59.11 per ounce after a nearly 2% daily decline, with 260-day volatility running 5.1 times that of the S&P 500. The metal’s premium to its 10-year mean reached 2.7 times by end-2025, the largest since 1979. McGlone notes that sentiment may only improve once prices sustainably exceed $84. He also anticipates gold slipping below $4,000 support amid elevated five-year Treasury yields.
