Gold prices advanced this week as fading September Fed rate-hike bets supported the August rebound despite pressure from a stronger dollar, higher oil and profit-taking. Starting at $4,342.50 per ounce, the metal reached a 10-week high of $4,450.23 before retreating to a low of $4,311.22 after mixed inflation and retail sales data.
